The IMAT Test

The test: The International Medical Admission Test (IMAT) is a test administrated by the MIUR ("ministry of higher education and research") for the admission to one of the Italian universities in; Pavia, Rome, Milan, Naples or Bari, that offer a 6-years medicine degree in English.
The number of available seats for the "next year" is usually published in April of the same year, so as the date of the exam, the test location and other specifications. Do not worry, you will have plenty of time to prepare for the test.

The Format: The test is a pen-and-paper test lasting 100 minutes, consist of 60 questions with a maximum score of 90 points.
The scoring system is as followes:
- 1.5 points for each correct answer
- -0.4 points for each wrong answer
- 0 points for a question remained unanswered
The tests consist of two parts:
Part I: 22 multiple-choice questions (2 in general Knowledge and 20 in logical Reasoning).
Part II: 38 multiple-choice questions in Scientific Knowledge (18 in Biology, 12 in Chemistry, 8 of Physics and Maths).
The next step: The Italian Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MIUR), stated a minimum score of 20 points to achieve in order to apply for any medical school in Italy.

Below this mark, you cannot apply to none of the Italian universities. If you achieve a score equal to or more than 20 points, you are officially a candidate and you are ranked according to your mark in the final list of candidates.
If you followed up to this point, you probably understand that for this test you SHOULD be at your best with maximum preparation to promise your place in the next academic year!
Is it hard? well, it's not easy, but absolutely possible with well organized preparation.

Hello! if i pass IMAT in 2017, doest it mean that my university training will start in 2018/2019 ? Or i pass exam in 2017 and in the same year the study will begin? please write me bench771@yandex.ru ( i just want ask some questions)

Deleteyes, exactly, this is how it is. You take the IMAT in 2017, probably September, then if you got in you start in October 2017, so it will be the 2017/18 academic year. cheers
I'm a student from Sri Lanka . I've done Cambridge A/L 's . Will my grades have any effect in entering the university or is it just the IMAT grades ? And can I please request the topics to study under science section for 2017 IMAT

I was planning to buy an informative guide with lots of practice questions, and my cousin just got one for me today. She picked it up from the bookstore while getting a book on LSAT Logic Games for herself.
